The Working Group for Analysis of the Presence of Computer Science Content in Elementary and Secondary School Programs and for the Study on Possible Changes (RINOS) submitted a final report on 29.5.2018 to the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bbJygmq8_qU). The RINOS Group was founded on 16.8.2016. The RINOS group examined teaching of computer science in over 12 countries and made a more detailed analysis of the introduction of compulsory computer science in four OECD countries. It also submitted a proposals on how Slovenia should approach the introduction of compulsory education in computer science. The member of RINOS group was also a member of Institue of Computer Science assist. prof. dr. Matej Črepinšek. The report is available at http://www.mizs.gov.si/fileadmin/mizs.gov.si/pageuploads/Aktualno/Porocilo_RINOS_30_5_18.pdf.

Our students have been invited to attend Dewesoft conference.
We used this oportunity and went to check what one of the world leading company on measurement devices is doing. Company's measurement devices are used in main applications in aerospace (NASA, ESA, SpaceX, Boeing, ...), automotive (Mercedes, Audi, John Dear,...), nuclear power plants and many more.
Conference itself was held three days with presentatons in Laško. We were lucky, to be able to attend it at least one day. That day we participate in various presentations, sightseing of Dewesoft heardquarter and evening gala event in Trbovlje. During the presentations breaks we enjoed the company of this year candidates for miss of Slovenia.

Student competition in group programming is starting again, called Univerzitetni programerski maraton (UPM, university programming marathon). In a group are up to three students. The goal is to solve as many problems in the shortest time possible.
New season in student competition in group of three is about to begin - Univerzitetni programerski maraton (UPM, university programming marathon). For the title of UPM champion, students from three Slovenian universities compete: Maribor, Ljubljana and Primorska. The best team from Maribor will also attend regional ACM competition in Prague (Czech Republic). Successful R-IT students are also excused on part of study obligations.
Group of up to three students are solving problems on single computer. The winer is a group that solves the most problems in the shortest time. You can choose from different programming languages (C++, Java, Python, C#). In a case that you are alone or you are in short of candidate, came and we will help you with that.

A seminar on teaching computer science was held on December 1, 2017, organized by the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts.
At the seminar, we highlighted the issues of computer science teaching, which should enable the child to become a creator, and not simply a user of information and communication technologies. Read the main resolutions of the discussion at http://www.sazu.si/events/5a25516ac153ea56172aa425, where lectures are available and a video of the seminar.
